Brake System
The brake system is one of the most essential systems of a vehicle and a critical aspect of passenger safety. It allows you to control your vehicle, reduce speed, or come to a complete stop.
Stepping on the brake pedal pressurizes the brake fluid and sends it through lines and hoses to the brake callipers, which apply the pads against the rotors. The application of the pads against the rotors generates friction, causing the vehicle to slow down.
As the brake system components begin to wear down, you may notice symptoms like squealing or grinding noises, vibrations or pulsations, pulls to the side while breaking, or a “spongy” brake pedal feel. If you notice any of the above symptoms, it’s time to bring your vehicle in for servicing.
Contact AutoWorks today to schedule your comprehensive brake system inspection, which includes the following:
Brake System Inspection
- Road test to assess your brake system’s performance.
- Examination of the overall quality and measurement of the brake pads, rotors, drums, and shoes.
- Test the brake fluid quality and levels.
- Visually inspect all brake lines, hoses, and the hydraulic system for signs of fatigue, cracks, or leaks.
- Inspect the emergency brake.
We include a comprehensive brake system inspection in our Level 2 and 3 Maintenance Service Packages.
