Automatic Transmission Fluid
What Is It? Automatic transmission fluid lubricates and cools the hundreds of internal
components and acts as the hydraulic fluid that applies the different moving parts.
Why Is It Important? Over time, the fluids complex blend of anti-wear additives, detergents, friction modifiers and more, start to break down due to heat, pressure and friction. Eventually, the fluid wears out, losing the ability to do its jobs, causing transmission component wear.
How Often Should I Change It? Most modern vehicles require automatic transmission fluid
service intervals between 80,000kms to 160,000kms.

Manual Transmission Fluid
What Is It? Manual transmission fluid provides lubrication to the bearings, shafts, synchronizers, and gears in the transmission. components and acts as the hydraulic fluid that applies the different moving parts.
Why Is It Important? Over time, heat, pressure and friction cause the transmission fluids additives to break down. Fluid-related issues can contribute to most manual transmission failures, includes worn gears that whine, grinding synchronizers, and noisy or failed bearings.
How Often Should I Change It? Most modern vehicles require manual transmission fluid service intervals at 100,000kms.
Contact AutoWorks today to find out the service requirements for your vehicle.
Differential Fluid Service
What Is It? Differential gear oil provides cooling and lubrication to the gears, bearings and other internal components.
Why Is It Important? Over time, the extreme pressures, heat, and contamination cause the fluids detergents, corrosion inhibitors, and friction modifiers to break down. Maintaining your differentials can prevent premature wear, ensure smooth and quiet operation, as well as longer component life.
How Often Should I Change It? Most modern vehicles require differential fluid services between 75,000kms to 150,000kms.

Transfer Case Fluid
What Is It? A transfer case is only found on four-wheel and some all-wheel drive vehicles, sending power to the front and rear differentials. The transfer case fluid lubricates and cools the gears, bearings, shafts, chains, and other components.
Why Is It Important? Over time, heat, pressure, and friction cause the additives, detergents, and corrosion inhibitors to break down, losing their ability to do their job.
How Often Should I Change It? Most modern vehicles require transfer case fluid service intervals between 25,000kms to 150,000kms.

Power Steering Fluid
What Is It? Power steering fluid cleans, lubricates, and draws heat away from the power steering components.
Why Is It Important? Like other automotive fluids, the cleaning agents, detergents, and lubricating properties will begin to break down. This can cause steering pump noises, difficult or erratic steering, and fluid leaks.
How Often Should I Change It? We recommend replacing the power steering fluid at 100,000kms to ensure smooth steering operation and prolong the life of your power steering components.
Contact AutoWorks today to find out the service requirements for your vehicle.
Brake Fluid Service
What Is It? Brake fluid is an integral part of the braking system. It is used to transfer force under pressure to the braking system components to stop your vehicle.
Why Is It Important? Brake fluid is a hygroscopic fluid, which means it will absorb moisture from the air and materials around it. As the fluid’s water content increases over time, it drops the boiling point of the fluid. Replacing the brake fluid periodically can prevent corrosion of the brake components, gradual loss of brake function, and a spongy brake feel.
How Often Should I Change It? While our testing can test the boiling point of the brake fluid, you cannot test the corrosion inhibitors. Because of this, most modern vehicles recommend replacing the brake fluid every two to three years.

Cooling System Service
What Is It? The vehicles cooling system is used to dissipate heat caused by the engine, lubricate the water pump and protect against corrosion. Your vehicle even uses the cooling system to heat the passenger cabin.
Why Is It Important? Over time, the coolants corrosion inhibitors, water pump lubricating agents, and more, begin to break down. The freezing point begins to rise and pH levels begin to change, with many coolants becoming acidic, causing rapid corrosion and damage to cooling system parts.
How Often Should I Change It? Most modern vehicles recommend replacing the coolant every five years or 160,000kms, whichever comes first. However, service intervals do vary.
